OBEDIENCE

What is Obedience?

Obedience training ranges from very basic training, such as teaching a dog to reliably respond to basic commands such as “sit,” “down,” “come,” and “stay,” to high level competition to Kennel Club rules.

The KC Good Citizen Scheme is open to all dogs, pedigree or Crossbreed, whether Kennel Club registered or not. It provides a quality standard of training for dogs.

Dog owners of any fitness level and/or disability can take part. The Scheme is non-competitive and emphasis is placed on the standard of achievement. There are four levels of courses from Puppy Foundation, to Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards.

Can myself and my dog do it?

As long as your dog is non reactive and has a good recall, then, Yes! Young or old, large or small you and your dog can participate in this exciting, fun activity!

Obedience Venues and Classes.

We currently run training out of Newchurch Church Hall.  Unfortunately we cannot accommodate handlers and dogs who have not booked as space is limited in classes. Please note that if you have a new puppy, you should start training and socialisation as soon as he/she is ready to mix with other dogs after vaccination.

Dogs will be assessed on their suitability for group classes prior to joining, with the trainers decision being final.

Interested? You are invited to contact us to arrange a trial session.
